Privacy Policy

This notice describes the information about you held by the Dental Law & Ethics Forum (DLEF), and how we use it.

If you need help reading this notice, or have any questions about how we use your data please ask Niamh Rigby or any other member of the DLEF management committee^[i].

DLEF is the “data controller” for the purpose of the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation effective from 25 May 2018, and is represented by the DLEF management committee. 

When you join DLEF we request that you provide the following information:

• Your name;
• Organisation where you work (if appropriate);
• An email address on which we can contact you;
• GDC registration number (if appropriate).

We need this information to enable you access to the rights and benefits of your DLEF membership, and to collect your subscription fees.  We will only use your information for these purposes.  

The information will be accessible to the members of the management committee and their assistants or administrative staff. 

We will use your name and contact details to send you information about DLEF activities and meetings, to request subscription fees, and for such other correspondence as may be necessary to enable you to access your membership benefits.

We will use your GDC number to identify you for the purpose of continuing professional development (CPD).

We will not share your information with any other person on organisation, unless required to do so by law.

If you are a speaker at a DLEF event, we may ask to use your name, professional achievements, and the contents of your talk, for additional purposes such as publicising DLEF, marketing and education.  However we will only do this with your express written agreement: you will have control over how such material will be used, and will have the right to request its removal at any time. 

We will keep your information as long as you are a member of the DLEF, and for 12 months after your membership ceases.
